Tim Farron
-
Tim Farron was leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2015 to 2017.
-
He has been an MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005. During Nick Clegg's leadership, Farron was the shadow foreign secretary.
-
Farron was re-elected at the 2017 general election but states that he would step down as party leader following this election. This was because he was "torn between living as a faithful Christian and serving as a political leader."
-
He voted against increasing university tuition fees. "Integrity is important. You must not only keep your work but be seen to keep your word," Farron said referring to Nick Clegg's pledge to not raise fees.
